South Asian Week

The week of January 31st marked the beginning of Utsav’s annual South Asian Week. The week also marked one of the snowiest weeks this winter.

Monday was the "Bhopali" movie screening with director Van Maximilian Carlson. Carlson’s documentary shed light on the world’s largest industrial accident and the repercussions it continues to have on the daily lives of people in Bhopal.

On Wednesday, Utsav members braved the cold and sleet to learn how to cook a basic meal. Our E-board’s very own Tanvi Bhandari showed members how to cook a simple, yet delicious potato vegetable dish along with roti.

Finally on Friday, Utsav members sat down with South Asian alumni in an informal discussion about where their Northeastern degree has taken them. The speakers, ranging from entrepreneurs to electrical engineers shared their tips and advice on co-op hunting and other perspectives regarding life after graduation.
Despite Old Man Winter delivering his worst, it did not stop a week of informative and fun events.

Thank you to everyone who attended!
