Here's wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali and Eid Mubarak!
We hope everyone enjoyed the Diwali/Eid Dinner on Tuesday! With a full guestlist, we had a packed banquet hall with students decked out in beautiful traditional clothes. Thank you to our great speakers, who spoke respectfully and eloquently about the Hindu and Muslim religions and engaged the audience in the discussion. The delicious dinner was served from The Pongal, and prasad was provided by the UTSAV E-Board. Thank you to everyone who came, we hope you had a great time!
Our next General Body Meeting is this Wed. 10/21 @ 7:30 pm in 444 CSC. Come by for a garba tutorial, and get ready to for DHOL BAAJE Garba on Friday 10/23!
See you soon!

Gandhi Day of Service - "Be the Change"
Saturday morning-7:30 am. Exhausted and sleepless for numerous reasons unknown. I looked outside and it was dark and pouring rain. Looking up at the ceiling from under the covers, I wondered why I had to do this.
Frankly, I think I wasted too much time thinking. Thirty minutes and a few phone calls later, Roshni, Prath and I braved against the rain, wind and Prath’s driving skills to the Post Office Square and joined other Northeastern groups on their way to Cradles and Crayons.
Cradles and crayons is Quincy-based non-profit organization that equips homeless and in-need children with the basic essentials they need to feel safe, warm, ready to learn and valued. Our job was simple but so fun. We had to go through bins of clothes and sort them according to season and size; and the bins were endless. We met and bonded with each other and members of the other organizations on campus. We did the ‘awwww’ when we saw super cute outfits that fit only my hands and we also made an assembly line to make things more efficient. Yes, we were a smart lot.
By 12 p.m. when we got done, it didn’t matter that all our socks and shoes were still wet from the rain. The Cradles and Crayons representative said with all the bags we filled, we had helped almost a 100 kids. It felt good.

Second General Body Meeting!
Hey everyone! :)
Yesterday, we had our 2nd General Body Meeting of the year! We discussed upcoming events like the Diwali/Eid dinner, coming up on Tuesday, October 13, as well as the NU/MCPHS Garba, which will be held on Friday, October 23. Get PUMPED, it's gonna be pretty sweet :)
This meeting was very interesting as well -- we watched a clip of the Bollywood hit, New York starring Katrina Kaif, John Abraham, and Neil Nitin Mukesh. We enjoyed hearing all of the thoughts and experiences you shared concerning 9/11, and really hope you enjoyed the discussion!
Hope to see you guys at our next GB meeting -- Wednesday, October 21 @ 444 CSC from 7:30-9 pm. We're gonna have a Garba tutorial, so get ready to danceeeeee!
